She explained, "Based on our observations, as the political crisis in the Russian Federation escalated, they gathered troops from the east and attempted to move them to the Moscow region."
The UMoD has highlighted that now that Prigozhin's rebellion has dissipated, Moscow has decided to return its troops to their original positions in the east.
During the weekend, Prigozhin issued orders for his forces to seize control of a vital military headquarters in southern Russia. His intentions were to launch a march towards Moscow, with the aim of challenging the existing military power dynamic.
However, just as the march was approaching the Russian capital, Prigozhin abruptly commanded his mercenaries to change course and abandon their mission.
