“In the course of repelling the missile attack, anti-aircraft missiles shot down five missiles. As a result of the attack, the historic headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet was damaged. According to the information available, one soldier was killed,” the Russian Defense Ministry posted on Telegram.
According to Mikhail Razvozhayev the governor of Sevastopol, the largest city in occupied Crimea, no civilians were injured in the attack.
“According to preliminary information, the civilian infrastructure around the fleet headquarters was not damaged. The people who were on the street at the time of the impact were also not injured.” Mikhail Razvozhayev posted on Telegram.
City residents spread videos and photos online of the burning building.
Russian officials also reported that the peninsula has been hit by an "unprecedented" cyber attack targeting its internet providers.
It comes two days after a missile strike on Russia’s backup Black Sea Fleet command post.
By afternoon, Kyiv had not yet confirmed its part in the Sept. 22 missile strike in Russian-annexed Crimea, but it had acknowledged carrying out the Sept. 20 strike and the Sept. 13 strike on a shipbuilding plant.

“Attention everyone! Another attack is possible. Please do not go to the city center. Do not leave buildings. Everyone who is near the headquarters of the fleet – at the sound of the siren, proceeds to shelters,” Razvozhayev wrote on social media.
“Workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia are working on the site. An aeromobile group is ready. Reserve equipment has been introduced. The firefighters are taking all measures to eliminate the fire as soon as possible. The build-up of forces and means continues,” he added.
