Kadyrov posted a video on social media in which his son is seen punching and kicking a prisoner who is seen cowering in a chair, before wrestling him to the floor and slapping him on the head.
The man who was the subject of the boy’s beating had been accused of burning a Quran.
Kadyrov had drawn condemnation, even from some pro-Kremlin hardliners.
Allies of the Chechen leader praised the boy for his “courage” and congratulated him on his appointment.
Kadyrov said that he respected the 15-year-old for acquiring the “adult ideals of honor, dignity and defense of his religion.”
Adam’s appointment to his father’s security service comes after receiving three state awards including “Hero of Chechnya” in October.
