Since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the United Kingdom’s Royal Family has offered its support to the people of Ukraine. Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as other members of the royal family have made large monetary donations to help Ukraine.
The late Queen Elizabeth II, despite traditionally never expressing her political position, publicly demonstrated that she is also with the people of Ukraine.

Her Majesty made a generous donation to the UK Emergency Committee, which helps Ukrainian refugees, with Buckingham Palace stating the issue was a personal matter, and refusing to give further details.
“We are very grateful to Her Majesty The Queen for her long–term support of the emergency situations Committee and for her generous donation in response to the humanitarian call of DEC Ukraine,” the charity said in a statement.
Subsequently, the queen mentioned Ukraine publicly in a message to parliament at its official opening. However, she was unable to attend in person, and the message was read by her heir, Prince Charles:
“In these difficult times, my government will play a leading role in protecting democracy and freedom around the world, including continuing to support the people of Ukraine.”
In addition, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have also demonstrated their support for Ukraine.

“My wife and I are deeply moved by the extraordinary bravery, generosity and fortitude of the Ukrainian community, which has found itself in the face of terrible aggression. Our thoughts are with you at this critical time,” the heir to the throne said during a visit to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in London.
In addition, Camilla joined a fundraising campaign for Ukrainian refugees, which was organized by the Daily Mail newspaper.
Prince Charles and Princess Margarita of Romania also visited a center for Ukrainian refugees in Bucharest. Charles, now the King, strongly condemned the war, calling it a “brutal aggression” against Ukraine. It was the first time that such a high-ranking royal visited the border region since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with Bucharest located about 200 km from the border with Ukraine.
And on March 9, sweets were brought to the Ukrainian Cultural Center in London, with Prince William admitted that even their young children — Prince George and Princess Charlotte — had been asking about the war in Ukraine.
“We think about you all the time and we really care about what’s going on,” the prince said.
In April, the Duke of Cambridge visited the emergency committee to personally find out what other support refugees needed.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also made statements condemning the Russian invasion. In particular, the couple expressed their support for Ukrainians when they took to the stage to accept the award for supporting racial equality at the NAACP Image Awards on February 27.
“We would like to mention the people of Ukraine, who are in dire need of our continued support as a global community,” Prince Harry said.
Moreover, some members of the royal family have opened their homes to Ukrainian refugees seeking asylum. According to the Daily Express, on May 21, some members of the royal family have hosted Ukrainians. However, the information is kept secret for security reasons.
They joined politicians, business leaders and thousands of others in offering housing to some of the six million Ukrainians who fled their country in the face of Europe’s most serious conflict since World War II.
However, Buckingham Palace, which said in March that the royal court was considering several ways to offer practical assistance and support to Ukrainians, declined to comment on this information.
“We are helping in various ways, but we will not comment further,” the royal family said.
