On March 21, a group of 17 children from the Kherson and Kharkiv regions who were taken to Russia or deep into the occupied territories last year were finally reunited with their families in Ukraine.
The Kyiv Post's special correspondent, Tatiana Popova, had the opportunity to speak with them. During the autumn of 2022, children from the occupied regions were sent to children's camps located within Crimea under the guise of a "vacation." The occupation authorities assured parents that their children would be returned within 10-14 days, but this promise was never fulfilled.
