The British Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday, Sep. 27 that Vladimir Putin is likely to discuss the annexation of the occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation during his speech to the Duma on Sep. 30.
The Defence Ministry announced in its daily briefing that the current round of referendums in these territories will end today, Tuesday, Sep. 27.

“Russia’s leaders almost certainly hope that any accession announcement will be seen as a vindication of the ‘special military operation’ and will consolidate patriotic support for the conflict”, it stated.
However, the ministry adds, “increasing domestic awareness of Russia’s recent battlefield sets-backs and significant unease about the partial mobilization will likely ruin their aspiration”.
The start of voting in phoney referendums on joining Russia was announced on Sep. 23 by Russia’s proxies in the south and east of Ukraine. According to state-run media outlets in Russia, the results will be announced on Sep. 27-28.
According to reports, residents living in occupied areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia Regions are being coerced into taking part in rigged referendums on their joining Russia.
Sources close to the Kremlin also revealed recently that Russia wants to create a “new Crimean Federal District” as a result of these “pseudo-referendums.”

According to sources, the Russian Federation may be responsible for creating the “Federal District of Crimea” in the regions of Ukraine it now occupies and aims to acquire through a series of such phoney referendums.
