Russia Stops Deploying Fresh Fighters into Ukraine

The military leadership of the Russian Federation has stopped deploying new units to Ukraine because large numbers of troops are refusing to participate in combat operations. This was reported by Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate on September 14 on their official Telegram channel.

In one instance, military personnel of the 5th Separate Tank Brigade of the 36th Army (Ulan-Ude) were dismissed from service without benefits (veteran status, length of service, etc.) because they refused to continue participating in military operations on the territory of Ukraine. Brigade personnel who are in Ukraine are granted leave exclusively for family reasons, such as the death of close relatives.

Intelligence also reports a catastrophic shortage of personnel in the units participating in the war against Ukraine. To “solve the problem,” the command of the occupation forces has significantly reduced the time for rehabilitation of military personnel after injuries and concussions.

The diagnoses of the wounded in hospitals are now intentionally simplified. They do not carry out previously planned operations and pressure the soldiers to return to the war in Ukraine. Moreover, they “recommend” that doctors should grant permission for elective surgical procedures only at the end of the war or with the direct approval of the wounded soldier’s commander.

In one instance, a serviceman was discharged from the hospital three days after he suffered a concussion and a ruptured eardrum. The official diagnosis was “otitis media.” He was told not to catch a cold in his ear. Surgical intervention was refused.

With Russia’s full-scale invasion approaching the 1,000-day mark, 3.7 million people have already been displaced inside Ukraine and around 6.7 million have fled as refugees, according to UN figures.

Ukrainian intelligence also reports that the Russians are now trying to reinforce their group near Kherson at the expense of “existing reserves.” For this purpose, they plan to relocate four battalions of “kadyrovites” (pro-Russian Chechen fighters loyal to Ramzan Kadyrov). However, these units are now significantly understaffed. In fact, most of the personnel are not Chechens but mercenaries from the poorest regions of Russia.

Before that, on September 9, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russian occupation forces were actively looking for ways to safely avoid combat operations and possible encirclement because the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensive is wreaking havoc on them from several directions at once.
