“It was a cordial and friendly meeting. We talked about a variety of aspects of Ukrainian life. About our culture, people, resilience, and the heroism of Ukrainian defenders. We hope to meet again soon!” Ukraine’s President wrote.
Fry, in turn, labelled the encounter as “terrific” and called Zelensky his “new bestie,” British slang for best friend.
“With my new bestie. We had a terrific talk. I’ve been lucky enough to meet a few world leaders in my time, but none with whom I’ve felt such an instant connection. I do not envy the weight of responsibility on his shoulders and a workload that would fell an ox. слава Україні!”
Stephen Fry, who had arrived in Kyiv on Sept. 5, became the host of the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, an event held on Sept. 6 under the patronage of Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine.
