On Friday, Oct. 6, Russian troops launched a missile attack on a residential area in Kharkiv. The attack resulted in damage to two apartment buildings and the destruction of a three-story residential building. A 10-year-old boy lost his life, and his body was found under the rubble. In addition, at least 16 people were injured, including an 11-month-old child.
"As a result of two morning strikes by the invaders on Kharkiv, nine civilians sought medical assistance. Among the injured - an 11-month-old child," Oleh Synegubov, the head of the region, reported.
"A 10-year-old child was found under the rubble, but unfortunately, the boy died… Rescuers are working at the site of the hits, sorting out the rubble," he added later.
Today marks the beginning of a three-day mourning period in the Kharkiv region, following 51 lives lost in the village of Hroza, where a rocket struck a cafe during a funeral gathering. The village was home to a total of 330 residents.
