The UN refugee Agency has reported that a total of 9,136,006 border crossings have been recorded since Russia invaded Ukraine.
One of the countries in the European Union which has taken in the largest number of refugees is Poland. Since July 11th, up to 1,211,596 Ukrainians fleeing the war have officially been recorded in the country.

According to UN sources, Germany takes second place in granting Ukrainians refuge, with an estimated 900,000 people being recorded living in the country. In the Czech Republic, up to 150,000 Ukrainian refugees have fled to the country. Turkey and Italy have both granted an estimated 150,000 people refuge, comparatively more than Romania, Moldova and Slovakia, who have all taken up to an estimated 80,000 refugees to live in the country.
Across the border in Russia, the UN has estimated that up to 1,625,531 Ukrainian refugees have entered the country. However, the mainstream media in Russia, with reference to security forces has claimed the true figure is close to two million people,
Currently, it is not possible to figure out the exact number of refugees in Russia, as the occupier does not disclose data on how refugees are recorded being in the country, as well as the status they have acquired.
A survey conducted by the UN refugee agency in six European countries has revealed that most Ukrainians who have received asylum would like to return to Ukraine after the war ends.

The 2022 Ukrainian refugee crisis is the largest since World War 2. Within Ukraine alone, up to 8 million people have been displaced and up to 90% of Ukrainian refugees are women and children as men have been prohibited to leave the country to fight the war according to credible sources, such as the UN.
Many of the world’s leaders have vowed to continue opening their borders to provide refuge to Ukrainian refugees amidst the ongoing war.
