With the assistance of the Olena Zelenska Foundation, 38,856 laptops will be given to Ukrainian teachers to ensure a high-quality educational process as part of a larger “Digital Equity for Ukraine” initiative of the Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education), Theirworld, HP Inc. and Microsoft, which provided laptops and software, respectively.
“The majority of Ukrainian schools now conduct online education. These are institutions or schools destroyed by the enemy in the areas with the most intense shelling. And yet, education is not interrupted. Even in wartime, teachers carry knowledge, and students strive to acquire it. As long as children learn and teachers teach, our country has a future. Therefore, our task is to do everything to ensure that the educational process continues,” said the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

Laptops will be given to support teachers in 12 regions of the country.
“When choosing regions, we were guided by the principle that it is necessary to proportionally cover the needs of regions with a large percentage of distance learning, as well as a large number of damaged and destroyed educational institutions,” explained director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation Nina Gorbachova.
During November, it is planned to deliver 20,981 laptops to Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions. Another 17,875 laptops will go to Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions in January-February 2023.

Today, November 10, the first batch of laptops in the amount of 3,097 units was given to teachers in Luhansk and Chernihiv regions.
“We are here today in solidarity with Ukraine, and in particular the children and young people of Ukraine, as we believe every single child should have the best start in life and a safe place to learn,” said Justin van Fleet, President of Theirworld and Executive Director of the Global Business Coalition for Education.
Delivery within Ukraine to all teachers is provided by GBC-Education in cooperation with the Ukraine House Foundation and the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America.
“The support of education and science is one of the priorities in our diplomatic fight and one of the key focuses of Ukraine House. Because after winning the war, which we have no doubt about, we will need to live in peace and rebuild a new, innovative Ukraine,” said Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States.
