The bodies, found without signs of violence, were located in the two separate apartments locked or sealed from the inside.
The women reportedly passed away on different dates – approximately two months ago for the mother and three weeks ago for the daughter.
Forensic medical examination (CME) will determine the causes of death, guiding subsequent procedural decisions.
The discovery occurred on Jan. 10 when maintenance workers, with police presence, entered the apartment due to concerns raised by neighbors about water leakage.
Olha Kolinko, aged 71 and reportedly in poor health for years, was found in one apartment. Her daughter, allegedly the mother’s caretaker, was found dead in a nearby family-owned apartment.
Kolinko served as Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine from 1993 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2005.
Additionally, she headed the Committee on Combating Organized Crime and Corruption under President Leonid Kuchma from 2001 to 2003.
