The Russians have been planning missile strikes on Kyiv and the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities since the beginning of October.

That’s according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Ukrinform reports.

According to Ukraine’s military intelligence, the Russian troops received instructions from the Kremlin to prepare for massive missile strikes on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure on October 2 and 3.

Military units of strategic and long-range aviation received orders to prepare for the task of launching massive missile attacks. The objects of critical infrastructure and the central areas of densely populated Ukrainian cities were chosen as targets.

On October 8, seven Tu-160 strategic bombers were transferred from the Engels air base to the Olenya air base and armed with Kh-101 cruise missiles.
