The Ukrainian Government has reiterated its call for citizens to safely leave the occupied territories in and around the nuclear power plant at Zaporizhzhia. Below is their official statement:
In Zaporizhia there will be established a military police to regulate logistics across the demarcation line. Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, told about this at the opening of the transit hub for evacuated residents of the Kherson region “I am Kherson”.

“In the Zaporizhzhia region, people are actively crossing the demarcation line, going to safer places. Clear regulation of this process and movement is necessary. Establishing a commandant’s office here will help manage logistics and ensure the safety of civilians crossing the demarcation line. The safety of citizens during evacuation is a key priority,” the official stressed.
It should be noted, according to Iryna Vereshchuk, over the last week, about 6,000 Ukrainians – mostly families with children – left the Kherson region’s TOT for the territory controlled by Ukraine.
